Rosamund Illing, one of Australia’s most distinguished operatic artists.
Receiving her Bachelor of Music degree (with Honors) from the University of Adelaide, Ms. Illing returned to her native England to study at the National Opera Studio in London and the Britten Pears School at Aldeburgh.
To date Ms. Illing has been awarded the Gold Award in the Benson and Hedges Competition, and a scholarship from the Royal Society of Arts for further study in Italy.
Her teachers have included Tito Gobbi, Geoffrey Parsons, Eric Vietheer, Sir Peter Pears, Janice Chapman, David Harper, and Ettore Campogalianni (the noted teacher of Luciano Pavarotti and Mirella Freni).
Young professionals regularly seek her advice and expertise on refining technique and specialist role preparation, and as such Rosamund Illing now offers Masterclass opportunities as part of her repertoire.
Recently her students have won all major placings in international competitions such as the Mietta Song Recital and the Herald Sun aria competition, and one student currently has a coveted Young Artists Contract with Deutsche Oper.
